  • Surface Wettability
  • Fire Dynamics

Research Statement:

Dr. Rahman conducts both numerical and experimental studies on the field of fluid mechanics and thermal sciences. Of particular interest are the effects of wettability on the condensation/frosting/defrosting and water-shedding mechanisms on a surface. His group also conducts studies on a range of topics including experimental/computational studies on micro-energy harvesting from different available energy sources, study of fire dynamics and propagation of fire-smoke in buildings, design and performance analysis of heat exchangers, etc.
